What we keep, why we keep it, and how to make us forget it. Written to be read, not skimmed.

The short version
We keep the few things we need to write your family's story and send it to you. We never sell them, we never show ads, and you can delete everything from your account page in one click.
What we collect, and why
**When you sign up.** Your first name (optional), your email address, the time you want the story, your time zone, and the plan you chose. We need the email to send the story and the time to send it when you want it.
About your children. First names, ages, and whether each child is a boy or a girl, so the story reads naturally. You may also tell us, if you choose, where a child is in trusting Christ, and anything we should handle gently (a new baby, a move, a loss, a hard diagnosis). These are optional. They only shape how softly the questions are asked.
We never collect anything from a child. Everything about your children comes from you, the parent or grandparent, and only you can change or remove it. Children do not have accounts, cannot sign in, and are never asked for information.
Payment. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure page, not ours. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of your plan and whether it is active.
Technical. One cookie that keeps you signed in to your account page. No tracking cookies, no advertising networks, no analytics that follow you around the web.
How the stories are written
Each day's story is drafted by a writing program from our editor's calendar, then read, corrected, and approved by a person before it is sent. The draft is written with blank spaces for names. Your children's names, your dog, and your town are filled in at the moment your copy is sent, on our own server. Your family's details are not sent to the writing program.
Who else touches it
Only the services that make the product run: our host, which stores the database; our email service, which delivers the story; and our payment provider, which handles billing. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job. Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, ever.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. Cancel, and your family's details stay for thirty days in case you come back, then they are deleted. Delete your account yourself, and everything goes at once. Past stories already in your inbox are yours to keep.
Your choices
From your account page you can change any detail, pause the stories, download everything you have shared as a file, or delete your account. Every story email has a link to pause. If you ever cannot get in, write to support@herealittle.com and we will do it for you.
Keeping it safe
Your details live in a database that only our software can reach, over encrypted connections, with sign-in by emailed link or a password that is stored only as a hash. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you promptly.
Children's privacy law
Because every detail comes from a parent or guardian and nothing is collected from a child, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us information directly, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always tells you when it was last revised.
